Held for demanding bribe

NEW DELHI: A sub-registrar at a registry office and a tout have been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi Government on charges of demanding bribe for preparing sale deeds and other documents.

Acting on a complaint by Jagdish Chand, the ACB recorded a conversation during which the accused R. S. Madan purportedly demanded a large sum from the complainant. It is alleged that he later asked the complainant to hand over the money to his tout, Yashpal. The ACB sleuths laid a trap and arrested Yashpal red-handed. The sub-registrar was arrested on Friday morning.
